June was off to a good start for the whale sharks. The first two weeks had great encounters with numbers of 4 to 20 sharks per day. The third week of june was some weather issues that created some problems for shark sightings and some days cancelled. The fourth week of June again had issues pertaining to the sharks food source which is tuna eggs. With choppy conditions it was a difficult week for all operators and very few if any sharks spotted.
July 1st started off with a boom and there were a lot of sharks with very good weather conditions. The first 6 days of the month had average of 30 sharks a day. The second week has been lower numbers but still sharks seen. We expect conditions and shark numbers to improve over the next month and into August.
